Lost: The Man Behind The Curtain

Once I open this door, there is no turning back

This episode was almost an information overload 😉 . Ben and Locke go out in the jungle to see the mysterious Jacob, even though he is not someone you go out and see, he summons you. Once in the Jacob shag, Ben seems to be talking to an empty chair. Locke thinks Ben is putting on some kinda show and wants to leave, but once he does, Jacob speaks to him and says “Help Me” ! So it seems Jacob wants to be rescued by Locke from Ben. Then the whole shag goes crazy, stuff flying around etc. but Ben and Locke get out alive.

This was basically the main scene for me. The fact that Locke could hear Jacob was very frightening to Ben. His leadership was already challenged by Locke, he didnt want Locke to see Jacob.

Lost: The Brig

If this isn’t hell friend, then where are we ?

Wow, a lot happened in this show. I always love Locke centered episodes and this one certainly was no exception. The flashback were different this time. We didn’t get flashbacks from his past but from the previous week, Locke spent with the Others, or The Enemy as Sawyer put it.

“They found the plane. There were no survivors. They were all dead.”

A very nice Lost episode this week. My expectations were not too high, since I never did care too much for the Jin and Sun back story, but I was pleasantly surprised by this episode. Their flash backs were very well done and acted, and their history was given an interesting twist as we learned that it was Sun who got Jin into the ‘mob’ job for her father. He was actually given a regular job as floor manager. We also learn that she actually did sleep with that other guy that killed himself, if anyone had still doubts about that.

Secrets of the Lord of the Rings

SQPN SLOTR SQPN has launched a new podcast named ‘The Secrets of the Lord of the Rings‘. I haven’t listened to it yet, but it looks very promising, since their previous Secrets of (Harry Potter and Pirates of the Carribbean) were very interesting as well.

Here is an excerpt from the press release:

“The Secrets of the Lord of the Rings” is a thrilling audio podcast that takes listeners on a voyage through the mythological and religious themes that have made J.R.R. Tolkien’s fictional work loved around the world.

Exciting moment

Children of HurinIn the midst of the recent publication of Tolkien’s posthumous “Children of Hurin,” and the April launch of a worldwide online multiplayer game based on the world of Tolkien’s “Lord of the Rings,” the new podcast is launched at an exciting moment for fans of Tolkien’s Middle Earth.

First episode at sqpn.com.

Lost: Catch 22

At least Catch 22 was an interesting episode, we did get to learn a bit more about Desmond. It wasnt a particularly spectacular or good episode, but it wasnt bad either. Desmond apparently lived in a monastery for some time, after he left a girl ‘at the altar’. And once he got ‘fired’ from the monastery he meets Penny.

Juliet arrives on the island

Excellent episode of Lost this week. We see how Juliet arrives on the island, and is manipulated by Ben to stay on the island. As we learn now, there is a fertility problem on the island and that’s why she has been brought in.

Plane missing on the news

The footage shown of the ‘outside world’ was interesting. Several news stations broadcasting about the missing plane. And ofcourse a little clip of Juliet’s sister with her son. Was the cancer really back or did Ben change the files in order to keep Juliet on the island ?

Tony sitting in a chair
A bit of a slow start to the second half of season 6. So far season 6 has not been anything to write home about and this episode sort of continued that tradition 😉 . Basically we only see Tony and his wife, Bobby and Janet (who has put on some extra weight it seems, and is more annoying than ever) hanging out, celebrating Tony’s birthday, fighting (not only verbal) and making a deal with some French Canadians.

Bobby has to wack a guy in order to get a sweeter deal with the Canadians, but it seems he does it rather sloppily and maybe it’ll come back to haunt him. He doesnt seem a happy guy once he returns to the family. Some funny moments:
– Christopher calling and wishing Tony a belated happy birthday, Tony immediately hangs up.
– Bobby after the fight getting into his car (who knows where he was planning on going) and backing into a tree 😆 .
– Tony going on and on about the fight and why he lost

Well that was about it. Found another nice review at the Natural Blog and a letter never sent. Let’s hope this season will get better than what we got so far !

Lost: Left Behind

Kate Left behind
A decent lost-episode this week. A Kate centric one. Didnt care too much for the Kate flashbacks, though she did look cute wearing a cap. The Others have left their little townville, and moved on to who knows where (someplace on the Island I assume) and Locke joined them. Apparently Ben doesnt need his doctor anymore and left Jack with Said, Kate and Juiliet. The general consensus is that Juiliet is up to no good and I tend to agree. She is now joining the beach crowd… Said didnt like the idea (neither did Kate) but they let it go for now, since Jack seems to really like her.

Highlight for me was the con Hugo pulled on Sawyer, trying to make him a ‘better person’ 😀 . Best Sawyer crack “I am not getting the Korean vote“.

Sawyer and Hugo

Couple of things were odd though, the other leaving their compound all of a sudden. The Smokemonster showing up (is he after another bad person ?) and not being able to climb the sonic fence, and the group walking about to the beach while they could move into the now deserted Otherville…

Next week should be interesting, a Juilet centric episode, we dont know that much about her yet, so we should get to know her a bit better.
